Cooper J P Flight Lieutenant DFCCooper J P Flight Lieutenant DFCOriginal wartime caption: Picture (issued 1945) shows - Flight Lieutenant J.P. cooper, a Halifax rear gunner in a Troop Carrier formation of the First Allied Airborne Army, who has just been awarded the D.F.C. His home is at 116 Carshalton Road, West Sutton, Surrey. After completing a tour in Wellingtons with Bomber Command in Britain, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, Flight Lieutenant Cooper took part in the airborne invasions of Normandy and Holland. As Squadron Gunnery Leader Flight Lieutenant Cooper has "thoroughly earned a DFC" and his steady hard work, experience, good discipline and loyalty have been of tremendous value in a newly-formed squadron.
