Robert John Cobb was born on 28 March 1908 and was the son of Jessie and Robert, a Civil Service Clerk at the Secretary's Office GPO. They lived at Strensall, Lenham Road Sutton. He had a younger sister, Hilda Mary. On the 1939 register Robert is shown as a Clerk in Holy Orders living with his father at 5 Woodbury Drive Sutton. Robert died in Worthing in December 1988 aged 80 years. Hilda also died in Worthing in January 1996 aged 85 years.
