Blackwater House stood at the end of George Street where the cinema stands today and was the home of the Bawtree family for ten years, their youngest son Ivan being born here in 1894.br/ One of Ivan's earliest memories was of looking down into the fields behind the house at the gypsy caravans and roundabouts of visiting fairs. He remembered lying in bed watching the lights twirling on his ceiling and listening to the music of popular songs of the time.
