Edith Mary Constantine was born on the 21st April 1896 in Halifax, Yorkshire. Her father was Thomas Constantine and mother Edith (Nee Hanson). Edith was an only child and she married William Ewart Horsley in Halifax, in 1922. They had two sons Geoffrey and Philip. Edith lived in Halifax until her death in 1985.
