Francis Henry Mably was born on the 7th June 1886 in Battersea Surrey. He was the son of Francis Mably and Jessie Mably (Nee Cathie).
On the 12th February 1913 he married Mary Margaret Parry and the couple moved to Sutton. They owned a drapers shop at 96-98 High Street and his occupation was listed as Silk Mercer, which meant he was a dealer in silk fabrics.
He was a member of Sutton Rotary Club from 1923 until 1928 and president from 1926-27. In the late 1920s Francis retired with his wife Mary to Worthing in Sussex where he died in March 1953 aged 66.
