James Henry Nelson Curtis
James Henry Nelson Curtis was born on the 14th August 1884 in Addiscombe Surrey. He was the only child of James Curtis and Francis Curtis (Nee Smallman)
He attended Charterhouse School in Godalming Surrey and the family lived in Bromley Kent. By 1911 James had qualified as a solicitor and the family had moved to Redcourt, Christchurch Park in Sutton Surrey.
On the 16th April 1914 he married Ida Morris of Charleston, Christchurch Park Sutton. The couple lived at 48 Mulgrave Road, Sutton which is still standing (2021) as a doctor's surgery and James had a solicitors office at 53 High Street Sutton.
He became a member of The Sutton Rotary Club in 1923 and was president from 1928-29.
On the 1939 census James was also listed as an ARP Warden in Sutton.
James died on the 29th Jun 1963 at Bexhill On Sea.
